Bible Society is working through a global alliance of supporters, churches, other organisations and a network of over 130 Bible Societies around the world to make the Bible heard everywhere. In some cultures, having access to or owning a Bible is the most pressing need and we continue to translate and distribute Bibles worldwide. However, in other cultures, the Bible is often seen as irrelevant and outdated and there is a new challenge to make connections between the biblical message and people’s everyday lives.
In order to make these connections in today’s culture, we need to listen to and try to understand the context in which we work and begin to challenge the predominant views concerning the Bible through academic and market research.

We are delighted with the Scripture and Hermeneutics partnership which is opening up new and exciting conversations about the place of the Bible in the Academy and its relevance to contemporary cultures.
